With more than 20 years of experience, Jox has worked for renowned broadcast networks such as Netflix, National Geographic, Discovery Kids, Televisa, Caracol TV, RCN, Teleset, and worldwide brands including Coca-Cola, LG, Ford, Nestlé, Nabisco, Unilever and BBVA as well as many popular artists like Jennifer Lopez.
After graduating from Musician’s Institute/Los Angeles in 1996, Jox returned home to Colombia. There he began to make his mark in the entertainment/advertising industry, composing and producing music for commercials, jingles, theme songs, backing tracks, reality/game shows, soap operas, children’s television, sporting events, sitcoms, as well as remakes/remixes for local and international artists.
In 2007, Jox was a guest artist at the TV y Novelas awards show performing his hit song ¨Agujero¨ from the award winning TV series ¨Sin Tetas No Hay Paraíso¨. The song was also included in the Televisa broadcast network series DVD release for the U.S. and Mexico markets.
In 2017, Jox was in charge of the music production for Alias JJ; the first Caracol TV project for Netflix. The show’s success enabled him to produce more International projects. Recently, he composed the soundtrack for the internationally acclaimed TV series ¨Bolívar¨ (Caracol-Netflix). Which was awarded a Produ Award for best Superseries (2019) and a Serial Drama Golden Bird at the Seoul International Drama Awards (2020).
Jox has won numerous awards for his outstanding work as a composer and music producer for television, receiving an India Catalina (2007) and a TV y Novelas viewers’ award (2007) for ¨Sin Tetas No Hay Paraíso¨, a Shock award (2013) for ¨La Selección¨ and a second India Catalina award (2020) for ¨Bolívar¨. He has also received numerous nominations including the Nuestra Tierra awards (2007), TV y Novelas (2008/2015), two for the India Catalina awards (2010/2017), and three more at the Produ Awards (2019/2020) in Cancún.
His most recent work can be heard on the soundtrack for the international TV series ¨Out Loud¨ (Caracol-Amazon). He is currently working on music for a new Vix series which will be released soon.
